Daniel DiGiovanni was arrested after a Tewksbury Police detective noticed him driving a vehicle with an expired registration around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 21, Tewksbury Police Chief Ryan Columbus reports.
When the detective stopped the car, they learned that DiGiovanni was driving with a suspended license. A subsequent search the vehicle uncovered two small baggies containing fentanyl and crack cocaine and a 9mm semi-automatic handgun with a loaded, 17-round magazine, Columbus reports.
DiGiovanni was charged with the following:
- Carrying a Firearm Without a License (Second Offense)
- Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
- Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card (Subsequent Offense)
- Possession of a Class A Substance (Subsequent Offense)
- Possession of a Class B Substance (Subsequent Offense)
- Operating With a Suspended License (Subsequent Offense)
- Unregistered Motor Vehicle
He will be arraigned in Lowell District Court on Thursday.
